Todd’s First Blog

Ordinarily, summer Sundays are low-intensity affairs when it comes to sports. But the Women’s World Cup final between the U.S. and Japan was high drama! I can safely say the almost two hours I invested in the match (I missed the first half) was stirring. Yet even though the U.S. apparently dominated the scoreless first half and later took 1-0 and 2-1 leads, I had a sense Japan deserved to win. It just seemed Japan wanted it more for whatever that’s worth, perhaps to give their devastated region something positive on which to place its focus.

While I watched most of the Women’s World Cup final, I didn’t have the opportunity to view WWE’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view. The reason was the pay-per-view part, as $54.95 is just too steep a price, although it sounds like the event was worth every penny. Wrestling might actually be getting cool again, as C.M Punk is the new WWE champion! Of course, Sunday was Punk’s last day with the WWE as his contract ran out. Should be interesting to see how this is addressed on Monday Night RAW.

That’s it for my first blog. Thanks for reading. Check back later for more.
